The Met Office forecasts generally settled weather at the start of August, with scattered rain in northern and northwestern England and potentially very warm conditions in the southeast. More changeable weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, is expected from August 3 to 10 before conditions settle. From August 11 to 25, high pressure is likely to dominate, bringing below-normal rainfall and above-normal temperatures, with possible hot spells and heatwaves, especially in southern England. Health warnings remain active across several English regions, while northern areas are expected to stay cooler.
