Harrods and the Knightsbridge Estate have unveiled plans to revamp Hans Crescent between Harrods and Knightsbridge Tube station. The project will add improved lighting, six seating areas, three trees, around 80 square metres of planting, new lamp-posts and space for temporary art installations. Completion is expected by autumn 2026, alongside a new step-free entrance to Knightsbridge Underground station, with Kensington and Chelsea Council backing the work as part of its public-realm improvement programme.

The government has applied for new planning permission to complete the dismantling of Grenfell Tower after previous permitted development approval expired. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government submitted the application to the Planning Inspectorate, with the final decision to be taken by a secretary of state to maintain independence from local authorities. Ministers highlighted community sensitivities and outlined measures to manage dust, noise, vibration and potential bat or bird habitats. A separate application for a community‑led memorial design is expected later in the year.
