Years has voluntarily recalled all of its Signature Meals, paused subscriptions for six weeks and removed the products from circulation after 57 reported cases of dogs developing dry eye and other eye problems. The company believes buckwheat, added to recipes earlier in the year, may be involved, although the ingredient is common and approved. Years is reformulating its food without buckwheat and investigating the reports with customers, veterinarians and independent experts. Owners have described severe symptoms and substantial veterinary expenses, while some are calling for reimbursement. Customers have been told to stop feeding the meals immediately and contact a vet if their dogs show signs of dry eye.

Sayers Bakery plans to close 19 underperforming stores, reportedly at the end of August 2026, putting approximately 100 of its 800 jobs at risk. S&PB Retail Ltd attributed the decision to changing shopping habits, fewer people visiting high streets, inflation and difficulties passing higher operating costs on to customers. The company intends to invest in its remaining 72 shops and protect about 700 jobs. The locations due to close have not yet been confirmed.
