Ryanair warns Manchester Airport passengers of big queues
Ryanair warns travellers from Manchester Airport of significant delays at 16 European airports due to ongoing problems with the EU’s Entry Exit System, which requires biometric checks for non‑EU visitors and has caused long queues since rollout. Airline leaders call for the system’s flexibilities to be extended into 2027 to allow airports to fix technical issues and increase staffing. The launch of the related ETIAS pre‑authorisation scheme has been delayed until 2027 due to technical failures and insufficient infrastructure. UK passengers are advised to allow extra time when travelling through affected airports.
