Bereaved families told Hull Crown Court that funeral director Rob Bush left their relatives' bodies at Legacy Independent Funeral Directors for months, in some cases in cardboard coffins, while families were given ashes belonging to strangers. Victims described discovering that cremations had not taken place, scattering or keeping incorrect ashes, and enduring additional trauma and funerals. The accounts were delivered during the opening day of Bush's five-day sentencing hearing, which remains ongoing, with relatives also raising concerns about inadequate oversight of the funeral industry.
