Haigh’s Plantation Gates has reopened to the public
The Grade II* listed Plantation Gates and Lodges at Haigh Woodland Park reopened following an 18‑month restoration funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Wigan Council. Lisa Nandy officially opened the site, highlighting its cultural importance, while local officials praised the public response. The project includes restored structures, new lighting, an information space in the South Lodge, and an immersive art installation in the North Lodge. The lodges are now open to visitors on weekends with free, bookable tickets.
