Paramedics to grant dying wishes with special final ambulance trips
Aberdeen paramedics Kieran Hutcheon, Dan Bickmore and Karen Gill have launched Wish Ambulance Scotland to help terminally ill adults and children make final journeys to meaningful places or events. Inspired by Hutcheon's inability to take his dying mother out for coffee, the charity plans to provide a less-clinical vehicle equipped with essential medical supplies for trips to beaches, parks, family occasions and other destinations. Fundraising is under way with an initial target of £25,000, while the founders seek premises, vehicle storage and medication facilities before launching within a few months.
