Disgraced ex-GMP sergeant caught out while trawling website for swingers
A former Greater Manchester Police sergeant, Kalhed Miah, was fined after admitting to impersonating a police officer and possessing police uniform items while using a swingers’ website, where he shared images of his old warrant card. A search of his home uncovered various police-issue items he failed to return after resigning before his dismissal for earlier misconduct involving uninsured driving and dishonest statements. In court, his solicitor cited mental health struggles and personal difficulties as mitigation. Magistrates imposed fines, costs and a deprivation order on the seized items, while past disciplinary findings from GMP leadership described his previous conduct as deliberate, dishonest and aimed at avoiding responsibility.
