Four natural weed‑killing methods—rock salt, white vinegar, lemon juice and boiling water—were tested to determine their effectiveness on patio weeds. Salt combined with boiling water delivered the fastest and most complete results, killing weeds within hours and preventing regrowth. White vinegar also proved highly effective, visibly wilting weeds within a day and making removal easier. Lemon juice showed no noticeable impact, likely due to rainfall washing it away. Boiling water alone caused immediate drooping but failed to kill mature weeds fully, working best on newly emerged growth.

Research on songbirds shows that vocal changes linked to a Parkinson’s-related gene can appear decades before movement symptoms. Studies revealed that affected birds produced softer, shorter and less frequent songs, aligning with early human vocal changes in the disease. New automated voice‑screening techniques can distinguish Parkinson’s patients with up to 90 percent accuracy. Bradykinesia contributes to quieter, monotone or disorganised speech, and speech difficulties vary among individuals.
