A crash on Giant Bradley Way in Market Weighton temporarily blocked the A1079 and caused slow traffic in both directions between nearby roundabouts. The incident was reported shortly after 6 a.m., and the road was later reopened with traffic returning to normal.

Rawcliffe Lane in Clifton, York, will be closed between Rawcliffe Drive and Brompton Road from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, August 10, for maintenance work. A diversion will route drivers via Rawcliffe Drive, Water Lane and Brompton Road, while residents needing access are advised to contact traffic management staff on site.

North Yorkshire Police initially appealed for help locating a 20-year-old man believed to be connected with an alleged burglary in York and thought to have links to Clifton. The force later confirmed that the man had been arrested. Police said enquiries were continuing and urged anyone with immediate information to call 999.

Two men allegedly assaulted police officers on Bridlington seafront while officers were conducting patrols under Humberside Police’s Operation Coastline. One officer was attacked while detaining a man wanted over previous alleged offences; an unrelated man allegedly assaulted another officer before fleeing. He was tracked by CCTV, found hiding under a parked vehicle and arrested. Both men were taken into custody.
