Alfred Dreyfus statue to finally receive permanent home in central Paris
A long-displaced statue of Alfred Dreyfus will be permanently installed on Rue de Harlay in central Paris, facing the cour de cassation that exonerated him in 1906. The move follows decades of resistance from military authorities and repeated relocations that kept the monument out of public view. President Emmanuel Macron and city officials will inaugurate the statue on a national Dreyfus commemoration day, emphasizing its symbolic placement and the need to confront France’s history of antisemitism and institutional injustice.
