Two people died when a light aircraft traveling from an airfield in England crashed in an isolated area near Trawsfynydd, close to Blaenau Ffestiniog, after failing to arrive at Caernarfon Airport. North Wales Police led a multi-agency air and ground search, located the aircraft on 14 August 2026, and confirmed both occupants had died at the scene.
