The Society of St Vincent de Paul has launched Area Gatherings across Northern Ireland’s Northern Region to reconnect members and community partners, share experiences and address local poverty, isolation, food insecurity and fuel poverty. Anne Irwin said demand for services is rising and encouraged more people to volunteer. The charity spent approximately £5.5 million supporting people across Northern Ireland last year and is seeking new members and community involvement.

A memorial fundraising campaign organised by Gregory Cassidy’s colleagues, family and friends raised £29,818.30 for Cancer Connect NI, which supported the family during his illness. The campaign included a memorial walk at Cuilcagh Boardwalk, workplace coffee mornings and a raffle, while Tracey Concrete contributed £5,100. Cassidy’s family and Cancer Connect NI thanked Mannok Cement and all contributors for honouring his memory and supporting local people affected by cancer.
