A passenger reportedly went overboard from the MV Caledonian Isles while it was travelling from Brodick to Ardrossan, prompting a rescue by the crew and notification of HM Coastguard. A subsequent bomb threat led to the evacuation of all 329 passengers and people at Ardrossan port while police searched the vessel. Passengers were later allowed to retrieve their vehicles after the search was completed, but all remaining Friday evening sailings from Ardrossan were cancelled. One man was arrested in connection with the incident.
