Alice Towers will compete for the Great Britain Cycling Team in the expanded five-stage Lloyds Tour of Britain after returning from the Tour de France Femmes with EF Education-Oatly. The 23-year-old hopes stages near Clitheroe and Leamington Spa will provide familiar surroundings, drawing inspiration from her grandfather Ian Towers, who made 44 appearances for Burnley. With her trade team absent from the British race, Towers expects to assume a greater leadership role and defines success as consistently making the right moves and positioning herself to perform well.
