Firms feel fuel cost rise months on from start of US-Iran war
Businesses in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are struggling with fuel costs that have remained high months after the US-Iran conflict disrupted oil markets. A florist has reduced delivery coverage and raised charges, while a vehicle transport and locksmith business spends up to £3,000 a month on fuel. A driving centre is absorbing higher petrol costs and using fuel-efficient cars to limit the impact on customers. The RAC and Petrol Retailers Association warn that uncertain oil prices mean petrol is unlikely to fall soon and diesel could rise further, leaving transport-dependent businesses under continued pressure.
