New government initiative launched to help first-time buyers across Scotland
The Scottish Government’s First Homes Fund offers eligible first-time buyers up to £10,000 toward an existing or new-build property in Scotland costing up to £300,000. Delivered by Link Shared Equity, the scheme provides an equity loan with no ongoing repayments, in return for the government retaining a proportional equity stake. Applicants must meet first-time-buyer, mortgage, income and occupancy requirements, secure an accepted offer, and pay a £650 buyers’ fee after approval.
