A 31-year-old woman died after a large alligator attacked her while she waded in shallow water along the Econlockhatchee River near Orlando. The reptile severed one of her arms and severely injured the other as her partner and friend attempted to save her and called emergency services. Wildlife officials reported harvesting two large alligators from the area for DNA testing to identify the attacker. Authorities have not released the victim’s name while trying to notify family, and the incident is one of several recent alligator attacks in central Florida following mating season.
