Dozens of anti-immigration protesters gathered at RAF Barnham to oppose the Home Office’s consideration of the former base as accommodation for male asylum seekers. The site is still used as a police training facility, and any conversion would require planning permission and other approvals. Previous demonstrations have been largely peaceful, although arrests followed unrest at Barnham Camp and in nearby Thetford. Suffolk Constabulary said it would continue balancing the right to protest with public safety.
