Man, 48, jailed following antisemitic hate crime in Slough
A 48-year-old man, Shafiq Rahman, received a 16‑month prison sentence at Reading Crown Court for an antisemitic attack in Slough and for a separate dog-related injury incident. Rahman shouted antisemitic abuse, threatened a Jewish man, attempted to take his phone, and verbally abused bystanders. Police identified and arrested him within days following widely shared video footage. He pleaded guilty to multiple racially and religiously aggravated offences and a charge related to the dangerous dog incident. Thames Valley Police and community safety organisations condemned the attack and emphasised ongoing commitments to tackling antisemitism and supporting victims.
