The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency has launched an online service allowing car and motorcycle licence holders to report medical conditions, submit multiple conditions in one session, track applications and renew medical driving licences. The service operates 24/7 and can save applicants up to 10 days compared with postal applications. The DVLA says more than 60,000 drivers have already used it and that digital uptake has risen by almost 50% over the past year. Drivers must notify the agency if they develop or experience a worsening notifiable condition, including diabetes, fainting, heart conditions, sleep apnoea, epilepsy, stroke or glaucoma, and could face a fine of up to £1,000 for failing to do so.
