Almería Airport in Spain will close for six days in February 2028 to permit runway upgrades as part of a €29 million, 19-month renovation project. All flights during the closure will be cancelled, affecting airlines including Ryanair, easyJet and Iberia and potentially thousands of British travellers, who account for 55% to 70% of the airport’s traffic. Alternative airports include Granada-Jaén and Málaga, though both are considerably farther from Almería.
