Students Swapping Essentials for Lifestyle Statements
A poll of 1,200 current and former students found that university essentials have shifted from books, kettles and alarm clocks in the mid-1990s to laptops, chargers, smartphones and reusable bottles. Technology now supports coursework, administration, communication and entertainment, with 67% of Gen Z respondents saying they could not complete their course without a laptop. Parents also view laptops as a key investment in their children’s academic success, while the findings were commissioned by Samsung alongside its Galaxy Book6 Pro.
