Best Places to See the Lunar Eclipse in Essex This Week
A partial lunar eclipse will be visible across the UK, including Essex, in the early hours of Friday, August 28. Recommended Essex viewing locations include Hadleigh Castle and Hadleigh Country Park, Langdon Hills Country Park, and Danbury Ridge or Danbury Country Park. The penumbral phase begins at 2:23 a.m., the partial eclipse at 3:33 a.m., and maximum eclipse occurs at 5:12 a.m., when about 93% of the Moon will be in Earth’s darkest shadow. Clear skies and an unobstructed south-western view will provide the best chance of seeing the event; no special glasses are required.
