Three paddleboarders rescued off Cold Knap Point by RNLI
Three paddleboarders were rescued off Cold Knap Point after becoming trapped in a strong ebbing tide and losing a paddle. One contacted HM Coastguard, prompting the launch of Barry Dock RNLI’s D-class lifeboat while RNLI lifeguards brought one person ashore using a rescue jet ski. The remaining two were recovered and taken safely to the Old Harbour. The incident highlighted the dangers of tidal currents and the need for checking conditions and carrying proper equipment.
