The box is scheduled to be opened on 19 January 2046, what would have been Parton’s 100th birthday. Parton discussed her frustration with keeping the song hidden during a 2022 interview and prepared a CD player in case the format became obsolete. The song is intended as a final release, although Parton’s extensive archive may contain other unreleased material.
