Bury AC U14s girls' sprint team win the 4x100m relay
Bury AC hosted a Mid Lancs Track and Field League meeting featuring several strong performances. Nancy Blain, Violette Overlunde and Emily Urquhart achieved a Bury one-two-three in the Under-14 girls' 200m, then joined Mylah Collier to win the 4x100m relay. Other notable results included Matthew Wheatley's senior men's 100m and 200m victories, Lucy Dent's Under-16 1500m win, and a victory for Bury's Under-12 boys' relay team. At the Trafford Grand Prix, Lucy Dent, Luke Harreld and Caitlyn Johnston each delivered impressive 800m or 1500m performances, with Dent and Johnston setting personal bests.

Young Bury trio represent club at Schools Track and Field
Three young athletes from Bury AC represented Greater Manchester Schools at the English Schools Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, with performances ranging from strong debut showings to injury-affected results. Ben Clarke finished 10th in the javelin after a fouled opening throw that would have won the event. Jemima Miles placed fifth in her hurdles heat and later joined the county relay team. Matilda Nott set a personal best in the 300m, reaching the final and finishing sixth, marking her as a rising talent. Additional club members competed in the Race the Train trail event, achieving several top-30 finishes despite challenging heat conditions.

Bury youngsters shine at North of England Championships
Young athletes from Bury delivered strong performances at the North of England Track and Field Championships in Leigh, with standout results from Matilda Nott, who reached multiple finals and earned a bronze in the U14 girls’ 200m. Several teammates advanced through heats or achieved personal bests across events including sprints, middle distance races and field disciplines. Additional notable performances included Lucy Dent’s silver in the U16 1500m steeplechase, Ben Clarke’s fourth-place javelin finish at the Welsh Under-18 Championships, and Jemima Miles securing silver in the heptathlon to qualify for the English Schools Championships.
