UEFA Chief Rules Out FIFA Bid Amid Gianni Infantino Storm
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has ruled out challenging Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency, saying he remains committed to UEFA and wants to enjoy life beyond football administration. Ceferin warned that Infantino must either resign or face an opposing candidate at the next FIFA Congress in March, after controversy over plans to secure private investment for FIFA tournaments. UEFA, CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation are reportedly considering a no-confidence vote, while the African and South American confederations continue to support Infantino. The dispute has also led several British and Irish football associations to withdraw their backing.
