Juventus has terminated Arthur Melo’s contract early, ending the Brazilian midfielder’s six-year association with the club. Signed from Barcelona in a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanić that valued the transfer at €80 million, Arthur made only 63 competitive appearances and scored once for Juventus. He spent four loan spells at Liverpool, Fiorentina, Girona and Grêmio, with Fiorentina the notable exception to his generally disappointing form. Juventus expects the termination to produce a negative financial effect of about €6 million, while Arthur is now a free agent.

Galatasaray were reportedly prepared to sign Sacha Boey permanently from Bayern Munich for €10 million to €15 million, but Turkey’s foreign-player quota left the club with only one available overseas-player slot, which it reserved for another position. Boey therefore returned to Bayern, where sporting director Max Eberl has said he, Bryan Zaragoza and Joao Palhinha have no future. Bayern paid around €30 million for Boey in January 2024, but the right-back has failed to establish himself, and no new transfer is currently apparent.
