A large Derby-based cocaine trafficking network was sentenced to more than 127 years in prison, with key figures receiving lengthy terms for their roles in importing, distributing and profiting from large quantities of class A drugs. Prosecutors detailed the scale of the operation, including multi‑kilogram consignments linked to national distributors and significant cash profits. Abrirahiim Hassan, who once worked for rapper 50 Cent and received an offer of bail support from him, was sentenced to 18 and a half years as a link between London and Derby. Multiple other members received substantial sentences for their involvement across two major conspiracies operating in Chaddesden and Sinfin.

A 23-year-old man, Szymon Babynko, appeared in court charged with the murder of Isaac Clare-Watts, who died during a summer solstice event at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Derbyshire. Babynko is also charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with another incident. He was remanded in custody ahead of a Crown Court hearing. Police continue to appeal for witnesses and video footage from the event as part of the ongoing investigation.
