Fleadh: Everything You Need to Know About the Festival in Belfast
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is being held in Belfast for the first time from 2 to 9 August 2026, with more than 200 events, All-Ireland traditional music competitions, concerts, street performances and family activities. Hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected, with the opening day attracting more than 176,000 people. The festival includes free and low-cost events, Irish-language activities, community programmes, markets, camping and inclusive outreach across the city. A large pedestrianised zone and extensive road closures are in place, while Translink is providing additional bus, rail, shuttle and park-and-ride services. More than 1,300 volunteers and enhanced waste-management and safety measures are supporting the event, which organisers say will showcase Belfast's culture and provide a significant boost to the local economy.
