Netflix released a trailer for Unabomber, a crime drama inspired by the life of Ted Kaczynski. The film follows Kaczynski from his time as a Harvard prodigy, including controversial psychological experiments conducted by Henry Murray, to the FBI investigation led by Joanne Miller during his 1994 bombing campaign. Jacob Tremblay, Russell Crowe, and Shailene Woodley star, with Janus Metz directing; the film is scheduled to stream on Netflix on September 25, 2026.

Sony Pictures has released the trailer for Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning, a companion film to The Social Network. Mikey Madison plays Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, who works with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by Jeremy Allen White, to expose the company's secrets. Jeremy Strong portrays Mark Zuckerberg, with Sorkin directing and a large supporting cast. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 9.

The gothic horror film follows nuns at a remote Scottish convent in 1944 who take in a baby abandoned during a storm. As disturbing events unfold, Sister Agnes believes the child may be the spawn of Satan, prompting the sisters to question their faith and whether her suspicions reflect demonic danger or isolation-induced paranoia. Directed by Nathan Shepka and Andy Crane, the film stars Amber Doig-Thorne, Michaela Longden, Elle O’Hara, Maryam d’Abo and Paul Barber, and is available across streaming, digital, theatrical and physical-media platforms in North America, the UK, the Philippines and Latin America.

Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Peter Heller’s novel follows Hig, a pilot grieving his wife and protecting his dog in a post-apocalyptic Colorado, as he searches for signs of life beyond his fortified airport hangar. The film’s potentially compelling themes of loss, trust, and forming new connections are weakened by derivative world-building, vague factional threats, bland survival clichés, and what the reviewer sees as troubling right-wing messaging. Jacob Elordi and Margaret Qualley generate some emotional interest, while action sequences featuring Josh Brolin and an escape by airplane demonstrate Scott’s technical competence. However, the shift toward spectacle in the third act undermines the character drama, leaving the film feeling generic, overstuffed, and narratively unfocused.

Dan Stevens has been cast as Alex Murphy/RoboCop in Prime Video’s eight-part series from Amazon MGM Studios. Written by showrunner Peter Ocko, the series will center on a giant technology conglomerate persuading a city to deploy a powerful robot police officer implanted with the consciousness of a beloved fallen officer. The project follows the acclaimed 1987 Paul Verhoeven film, two sequels, and the 2014 reboot, while Stevens is also set to appear in Adam Wingard’s action thriller Onslaught.

Wrestling films are presented as emotionally powerful dramas because they use the sport's theatrical nature to examine identity, family, sacrifice, addiction and the need for recognition. Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Ali G: Who Iz I?, marking Sacha Baron Cohen’s return to his best-known character after two decades. The covertly filmed comedy follows Ali G as he learns that his girlfriend Julie is eight months pregnant, travels from Staines to America to revive his former glory, and faces threats to his and his child’s existence. Cohen makes his directorial debut, with Morgana Robinson also starring. The film is scheduled for release on October 23.

Paramount Pictures and producer Kate Hudson are reportedly in early development on a sequel to the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Hudson hopes to reunite with Matthew McConaughey, though no other talent is attached yet. The original film, directed by Donald Petrie, earned $178 million worldwide from a $50 million budget and starred Hudson and McConaughey as two people whose competing relationship schemes unexpectedly lead to genuine feelings.

The review strongly praises Coyote vs. Acme for combining live-action and animation with energetic slapstick, emotional character dynamics, and sharp commentary on corporate greed. It follows Wile E.
