Engineering work on the Grade II listed Hawarden Swing Bridge in Shotton will close rail lines between Bidston and Wrexham General from August 16 to August 30, with replacement buses operating between the affected stations. Additional drainage work between Wrexham General and Shrewsbury will disrupt services toward North Wales, Birmingham International and Cardiff Central, while Crewe–Wrexham services will run at reduced frequency and typically terminate at Chester.
