Helen Skelton reveals what she does to stay in shape
Helen Skelton says she exercises primarily for her mental wellbeing and enjoyment rather than appearance. She runs around three times a week, hikes, swims and plays golf, and is training for the Great North Run before choosing another challenge. The presenter, who lives in Cumbria with her children, describes an active family lifestyle involving countryside walks, camping, boating and festivals, while acknowledging that persuading children to hike requires snacks, swimming opportunities and other incentives. She also discusses balancing work and parenting, including bringing her children to filming when possible and relying on extended family for support.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team Saves Disoriented Couple
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team rescued a tired but uninjured couple who became disoriented while descending a footpath below Sty Head Tarn in the Lake District at night. The pair had been trekking for about 20 hours from Stonethwaite, crossing Bessyboot, Glaramara and Allen Crags before summiting Scafell Pike. Because the route to the main path was considered too dangerous, rescuers guided them down a stream through thick bracken and several crossings before taking them back to their hotel in Borrowdale.
