Denbigh Moors Bronze Age burial mound damaged by vehicle
A 4,000‑year‑old Bronze Age burial mound on Denbigh Moors in Wales was damaged after a vehicle drove over it, leaving visible tyre tracks. North Wales Police and heritage agency Cadw are investigating, stressing the site’s legal protection and the irreversible loss caused by damage to ancient monuments. Officers are appealing for information, noting the remote location limits evidence. Ramblers passing the site suggested better signage to help the public recognise and avoid protected archaeological features. Authorities emphasised the need for public awareness to preserve historic sites.

The judge described Hughes’ actions as callous and cruel, while Turner’s sister expressed deep emotional impact and lasting trauma from the killing.
