Sennheiser gives its flagship true wireless earbuds a full revamp, complete with Bluetooth 6 and replaceable batteries
Sennheiser has announced the Momentum True Wireless 5, a redesigned flagship earbud lineup launching September 3 at $300 in the US, £250 in the UK and AU$499 in Australia. The earbuds add Bluetooth 6.0 with aptX Adaptive, hi-res audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, Dolby Atmos with head tracking, revised active noise cancellation and improved call clarity. Battery life rises to as much as 12 hours per charge and 40 hours with the case, while replaceable batteries in both the earbuds and case could extend the product's usable lifespan. The feature set positions the earbuds as a strong challenger to premium models from Bose, Apple, Sony and Bowers & Wilkins, although sound quality and noise-cancelling performance remain to be tested.
