Professor T returns for its fourth series on ITV, continuing the story after DS Lisa Donckers was struck in a hit-and-run. The drama is filmed largely in Belgium, with the Winter Garden of the Ursulines used for college interiors, Château de La Hulpe representing Jasper Tempest’s office, and the academiezaal Sint Truiden serving as the lecture theatre. Ben Miller reprises the title role, while Barney White discusses the close working relationships developed among the Belgium-based cast and crew.

The second series of BBC crime drama Ludwig returns with David Mitchell playing John “Ludwig” Taylor, now working as a crime scene consultant alongside DCI Russell Carter. Cambridge remains central to the show because of its distinctive mix of historic architecture, modern science facilities and relatively underused contemporary setting, although filming there creates significant logistical and traffic challenges. Series two is scheduled to premiere on BBC One on August 20, with its first three episodes also available on iPlayer.

Channel 4 has not yet confirmed a third series of The Undeclared War, but Simon Pegg, Hannah Khalique-Brown and writer Colin Teevan have discussed possible future storylines. Pegg says the characters' circumstances have changed significantly after the second series, while Khalique-Brown believes there are several options to explore. The programme's expanded focus on Danny Patrick, GCHQ, politics and government could support another instalment, although viewers may face a lengthy wait given the four-year gap between the first and second series.

The Undeclared War season two consists of six episodes and continues the story of GCHQ analysts confronting cyber-attacks against the UK. The series focuses particularly on Danny and Barbara Patrick as their personal relationship becomes entangled with professional and national-security crises. After the show was removed from part of Channel 4's schedule to make room for Celebrity Hunted, the final two episodes were set to air as a double bill on August 5 at 9pm and 10pm, with all episodes also available to stream on Channel 4.

Ellie Haddington joins the third series of BBC crime drama Granite Harbour as Rose Gough, the matriarch of a local traveller community linked to a murder investigation. The article reviews Haddington’s career, from her breakthrough as Josie Clarke in Coronation Street to roles in Motherland, Guilt, Silent Witness, Shetland and several films. Co-star Romario Simpson praised her natural, truthful approach to acting and described working with the experienced guest cast as an inspiring experience.

The second season of The Crow Girl is available to stream on Paramount+ and launched alongside the first season’s Channel 5 broadcast. A Channel 5 release date for season two has not been confirmed. A third series appears unlikely because the second season has caught up with Erik Axl Sund’s source material, although Paramount+ has not made an official decision.

The five-part BBC psychological thriller The Rapture, filmed in Wales and based on Liz Jensen’s novel, stars Ruth Madeley as psychologist Dr Gabrielle Fox and India Amarteifio as Bethany Krall, a teenager accused of murdering her mother who claims to foresee disasters. The ensemble also includes Sam Hazeldine, Jack Farthing, Iwan Rheon, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ruth Jones and others. The series explores climate change, corruption, spiritual longing and crisis, with supporting characters including a spiritual leader, a renewable-energy geologist and a troubled journalist.

BBC psychological thriller The Rapture was filmed exclusively across Wales, including Porthcawl, Port Talbot, Swansea, Pontyclun, Penarth and Margam. Cast members Ruth Madeley, Iwan Rheon, India Amarteifio and Sam Hazeldine praised the region’s diverse scenery, ranging from seaside towns and forests to historic ruins. Locations included Margam Country Park, Swansea’s Kardomah Café and Guild Hall, Maesteg town hall, Penarth, Porthcawl and Smilog Woods, supporting the drama’s themes of climate change, environmental stewardship and crisis.

Granite Harbour season 3 was filmed in Aberdeen, Glasgow and other Scottish locations, including Aberdeen beach, the coastal esplanade and the historic fishing village of Footdee. The new series follows DCI Cora Macmillan, DC Davis Lindo and DS Lara Bartlett as they investigate the murder of a teenage café worker whose body is found near an estate linked to the local Traveller community. The case places the Major Investigations Team under additional scrutiny from the Special Police Investigations Service and exposes deeper community tensions. The series launches on BBC Scotland on July 23, followed by BBC One, with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC postponed the final two episodes of the drama I, Jack Wright to accommodate FIFA World Cup coverage, rescheduling them for July 20. The series follows a family embroiled in conflict after the death of businessman Jack Wright, with police investigating the circumstances. The concluding episodes feature escalating tension among key characters, and the BBC has confirmed a second season for 2027 with returning cast members and new additions.

Channel 5 has renewed the detective drama Cooper and Fry for a second series following a strong audience response to its debut. The new season will continue the investigations of detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, drawing on several Stephen Booth novels and expanding the cast with returning and new actors. Filming is underway, with the series scheduled to air in 2027.
