The Conditions of the Homeland as a Concept
Meysam Qahvehchiyan
Anjoman Journal | Issue No. 36
Special Dossier: The Crisis of Homeland in the Contemporary World – Article 2
The homeland is one of the objective and undeniable realities of today's world. Nevertheless, if we proceed from the fundamental premise of the philosophy of history and historical epistemology—that every concept has a historical origin and that no meaning is intrinsic, eternal, or independent of the course of human development—then the homeland must be understood as a particular stage in the historical representation of the contemporary reality that we call "homeland."
Constitutionalism: From Historical Necessity to the Development of Individuality
Constitutionalism, at a certain point in time, transformed the form of human life across various political-geographical spheres. This phenomenon, however, could not have been sudden—and this impossibility is not specific to constitutionalism but goes back to a general principle in metaphysics: the principle of causality.
I wrote the above for issue No. 38 of the monthly journal of the association, published in the city of Tabriz.
My recent work includes a chapter on the social theory of Iranian sociologist Seyed Javad Miri, published by Brill in 2026.
