Iliman Ndiaye would be very hard to replace – but Everton have to be ready
Michael Ball argues that Everton must be prepared for a late bid for Iliman Ndiaye, whose movement, creativity and defensive contribution would be difficult to replace despite the need for greater goals and assists. He criticises the club’s failure to sign a right-back and warns against repeating past recruitment mistakes after major player sales. Ball praises Everton’s summer additions, particularly Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard, while highlighting promising pre-season performances from Tyler Dibling, Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl. The squad appears deeper and more positive, but Everton must show greater defensive resilience and accountability when the season begins.
