Djed Spence has completed a £30m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan, with Spurs retaining a 10 per cent sell-on clause. The England defender underwent a medical in Italy after being granted permission to travel, and Inter moved for him after difficulty reaching an agreement for Moussa Diaby. Spence had struggled for a regular place at Tottenham despite strong performances, including during England’s World Cup campaign, and had previously enjoyed a loan spell at Genoa. Tottenham are already considering replacements, while Spence described the move as the start of a new chapter after four years at the club.

Tottenham completed a club‑record £100m signing of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, who will receive £92.5m plus add‑ons. The midfielder was eager to work under Roberto De Zerbi, becoming part of a major Tottenham rebuild that has already surpassed £200m in summer spending. Newcastle expect to reinvest the fee across several positions and have moved to sign Bazoumana Toure.
