My dog left a mum and daughter scarred for life - but he was protecting me
Christina O'Driscoll was acquitted at Airdrie Sheriff Court after her boxer-bully cross, Bud, seriously mauled Tanya Kanstantsinava and her 14-year-old daughter outside O'Driscoll's Coatbridge flat. O'Driscoll claimed the dog was protecting her during an assault and said Kanstantsinava had returned to her home and attempted to break in. The jury viewed phone footage and reached a not-guilty verdict under the Dangerous Dogs Act after 10 minutes. Kanstantsinava and her daughter required hospital treatment for deep facial and neck injuries and say they have suffered lasting physical and psychological effects. Bud was taken into kennels pending the trial, while O'Driscoll said she was relieved he avoided being put down but did not know whether he would be returned.

Teenager who leaked John Beaton's home address online after Celtic penalty decision is sentenced
A 19‑year‑old mechanic, Corey Davies, was fined after admitting to breaching the Data Protection Act by leaking referee John Beaton’s home address and phone number online following a contentious Celtic penalty decision. The leak led to numerous anonymous calls and prompted safety concerns for Beaton and his family. Davies had photographed personal details from a job card at his workplace and shared them with friends, one of whom spread them further. The sheriff cited his immaturity and lack of prior offences in imposing the sentence. The Scottish Football Association condemned the leak as part of a broader pattern of escalating hostility toward referees.
