Emergency care team to take centre stage in documentary
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’s Critical Care Team will appear in BBC Two’s six-part documentary series Emergency 24/7, filmed at Southmead Hospital’s Emergency Department. The programme will follow real patient journeys and the work of hospital staff and air ambulance crews, with GWAAC expected to feature in the first four episodes. The charity serves 2.1 million people across parts of southwest England, treated 2,344 urgent-care patients during its busiest year on record, and must raise more than £4 million annually because it receives no routine government or National Lottery funding.
