Pailos: 'The Ethics of Dust', a cultural element of our time
Jorge Otero-Pailos, a Spanish architect, historian, and preservationist, delivered a talk on his internationally recognized concept of experimental conservation, which is provocative and challenges traditional conservation methods. His work 'The Ethics of Dust: Trajan’s Column' is a highlight of the Victoria & Albert Museum's collection in London. The museum's exhibition 'All of this belongs to you' aims to reflect on the role of museums and the interaction between society and art. Otero-Pailos' installation next to a plaster replica of Trajan's Column uses latex to capture centuries of dust and pollution, transforming a cleaning technique into an act of preservation and offering a new perspective on pollution as a significant product of contemporary culture.
