Heatwave drives record demand on Welsh NHS - latest figures
Recent hot weather contributed to record demand across NHS Wales, including dehydration-related falls, dizziness and reduced mobility. July recorded the highest number of emergency department attendances in Wales, while average time spent in A&E fell to two hours and 57 minutes and four- and 12-hour performance improved. The Welsh NHS Confederation warned that services remain under unrelenting pressure and called for stronger community care, workforce capacity, digital infrastructure, social care support and a 10-year capital investment strategy.
