Wiltshire Council approved plans for 3,582 solar panels at the Ministry of Defence site in Lyneham to power a new technical training school and accommodation block. Local parish representatives raised concerns about flooding, leading to drainage conditions and a subsequent drainage strategy from the MoD. The project joins other proposed solar installations across Wiltshire, including a National Trust site, while larger schemes such as the Lime Down Solar Farm have faced controversy.
