Ben Gough, 41, was found dead at Moorfield Car Park in Truro, Cornwall, on August 17 after emergency services were called. Devon and Cornwall Police are treating the death as unexplained and continue significant enquiries. A 44-year-old man from Truro was arrested on suspicion of assault, grievous bodily harm, administering a noxious substance and theft. Gough's sister, Leanne, said his death had broken the family, while friends and relatives shared tributes describing him as loved, supportive and always smiling.

A Ryanair flight from Faro to Exeter diverted to Birmingham after the crew reported an aircraft problem and issued a 7700 emergency squawk. The plane circled Exeter before continuing north and landing safely, where emergency vehicles met it on arrival. Passengers described tension on board but praised the professionalism of the crew. Ryanair arranged onward transport to Exeter and has not disclosed the cause of the issue.

A man was taken to hospital with non‑life‑threatening stab wounds after a fight at the Monkey Tree Holiday Park in Cornwall. Police were called shortly before 3am and found the injured man at the scene. Three men in their twenties were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and later released on bail as inquiries continue.
