Wife describes Singapore Airlines turbulence flight that killed her husband
Linda Kitchen, 74, has described the severe turbulence aboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 in May 2024 that killed her husband, Geoff Kitchen, and left her with spinal fractures. The aircraft reportedly dropped about 6,000 feet over Myanmar before diverting to Bangkok. Kitchen says she learned of her husband's death two days later while hospitalized, and required extended treatment and rehabilitation after returning to the United Kingdom. Irwin Mitchell has issued High Court proceedings against Singapore Airlines seeking damages, answers about the incident and investigations into whether the injuries could have been prevented.
Heartfelt decision after girl, 14, dies following collapse on cricket grounds
Fourteen-year-old Amélia Jones died after collapsing at Grampound Road Cricket Club near Truro, Cornwall, on August 20. She was airlifted to Derriford Hospital after emergency services responded, and the club said the incident appeared to be medically related and unconnected to cricket. Her family described her as a much-loved daughter, sister, friend and talented sportswoman, and donated her organs to help other families. A GoFundMe campaign is raising money for funeral costs, with any surplus intended for charity.
