Grieving Wife Breaks Silence on Horror Flight That Killed Husband
Linda Kitchen has spoken publicly about the May 2024 Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321 turbulence incident, in which she suffered spinal fractures and her husband, Geoff Kitchen, died from his injuries. The flight diverted to Bangkok after plunging about 6,000 feet over Myanmar, and Linda says she was not told of Geoff's death until two days later while she was in intensive care. Represented by Irwin Mitchell, she has launched High Court proceedings against Singapore Airlines seeking damages, answers about what happened and clarification of whether more could have been done to prevent the injuries.
Tragedy after girl, 14, collapses on club grounds in Cornwall
Fourteen-year-old Amélia Jones died after collapsing at Grampound Road Cricket Club near Truro, Cornwall, on August 20. She was taken by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital, and the cricket club said the incident was medically related and unrelated to cricket. Her family remembered her as a much-loved daughter, sister, friend and twin, as well as a talented netball and cricket player. The family donated her organs, while a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help cover funeral costs and had raised more than £11,000 toward a £16,000 target.
