The move would provide a fresh start after Matt lost an arm in a 2019 cycling accident, but they could not make an offer because their existing Berkshire home had not yet sold. Epsom couple Matt and Lizzy appeared on BBC’s Escape to the Country while seeking a detached home in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. They quickly fell in love with a property on the Cowal Peninsula, which offered space, character and a coastal outlook and was priced at £399,000 against their £600,000 budget. Their offer was accepted, but the vendor later withdrew, leaving them to resume their search.
