Gran left 'fighting for life' on Turkey holiday as family told to pay £30,000
Seventy-five-year-old June Redman from Middlesbrough became critically ill during a family holiday in Turkey after falling at a hotel, later developing sepsis and pneumonia and requiring an induced coma, intensive care and a tracheotomy. Although she is beginning to recover, her family says her travel insurance will cover only 21.28% of the costs, leaving about £31,500 needed for an air ambulance home. The insurer, Goodtogo Travel Insurance’s parent company Ancile Insurance Group, says it is working with the family but cannot comment on the ongoing claim. The family has raised around £7,000 and disputes the insurer’s reliance on medical conditions they say were unknown or unrelated to the emergency.

Great-gran hospitalised after balcony trip turning Turkey holiday into 'nightmare'
Seventy-five-year-old June Redman from Middlesbrough remains in intensive care at Ahu Hospital in Marmaris after falling at a hotel in Turkey, later developing dangerously low blood pressure, sepsis, pneumonia and kidney failure. She has undergone an induced coma and tracheotomy and is now showing gradual improvement, but her family says she needs an air ambulance to return to the UK. Goodtogo Travel Insurance will reportedly cover only 21.28% of the repatriation costs because of medical-history details the family says were not declared, leaving about £31,500 to pay. The family has raised £7,000, including more than £2,000 through GoFundMe, and is appealing for further donations while warning travellers about the importance of fully disclosing medical information.

Mum Who Murdered Toddler Daughter Filmed Smoking Cigarette as Tot Lay Dying
Alexandra Walker and her partner Harrison Simpson were convicted of murdering two-year-old Isabelle Welsh after she suffered prolonged physical and sexual abuse, including 21 broken bones and a fatal head injury. Police-released footage shows Walker smoking while Isabelle lay dying, and the court heard that Walker delayed calling emergency services and searched online for an explanation instead. Simpson was also convicted of sexually assaulting Isabelle. Both received life sentences, with minimum terms of 28 years for Simpson and 22 years for Walker. The judge described the injuries as sadistic and condemned the defendants’ attempts to conceal the abuse.
